Since October 2014, I am professor (W3 equivalent) for humanoid robots and vice rector for digitalization at the University of Bonn. Before that I was an assistant professor at the University of Freiburg.

In the course of my research career, I have developed several innovative solutions for robotic systems co-existing and interacting with humans. Among them are probabilistic techniques for navigation with humanoid and wheeled robots as well as for reliably detecting and tracking humans from sensor data and analyzing their motions.
